Cascade Crossing
Fly Fishing. Culture. Patagonia.
Lakes, volcanoes, and legendary rivers—Patagonia at its wildest.
From San Martín de los Andes, across the border to Huilo Huilo, Cascade Crossing traces a route through Argentina and Chile’s Lake District — a gentler, greener face of Patagonia. Thermal hot springs, glassy lake water, and volcano country all sit within reach of a single itinerary.
Guests move between lake district waters and volcano country, threading through some of the region’s most legendary rivers along the way. This expedition can be as much activity and sightseeing as you want, tailored entirely around your interests, with the option to extend further into the Lakes Region and the Pacific coast, including Valdivia and Niebla.
For trout anglers, November and December are the best months to fish. Come March and April, the Araucanía region turns with amazing fall foliage — and late February through March brings the salmon run, for those looking to land a 10 kg King Salmon.

Each day includes riverside lunches, followed by exceptional dining experiences in the evenings.
Day Four (Tuesday)
Embark on a delightful three-hour sightseeing drive from Junín de los Andes, traversing the Mamui Malal pass into Pucón, Chile. This journey will take you alongside the famous Lanín Volcano, where the landscape transforms dramatically. Once in Chile, you’ll have various options to choose from, including relaxing hot springs, engaging outdoor activities, and exquisite dining experiences.
Days Five (Wednesday)
Wake up in the morning and enjoy a full breakfast before making any last-minute preparations in Pucón, then hit the road to the Pacific coast! We will drive for three hours, making a few charming pit stops for sightseeing along the way, as we head towards Niebla, Chile.
Here, we will take you to a renowned market right by the ocean, where you can sample a variety of delicious Chilean Pacific dishes. That evening, we will host a barbecue at our accommodation, enjoying a meal while overlooking the Pacific alongside our local Chilean host, Alberto.
